Retaliation against US would be Iran's worst mistake ever, Rubio warns

Iran’s parliament has approved a measure to close the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil shipping route, following US strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites, state-run Press TV reported on Sunday.

Major General Esmail Kowsari, a member of the parliament’s National Security Committee, told state media that while the parliament has reached a consensus in favor of closing the strait, the final decision rests with Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, the country’s highest security authority.

The spokesperson for Iran's judiciary announced the arrest of three individuals in Kermanshah province on charges of "espionage," saying that one of them is a citizen of a European country.

The Israeli military said on Sunday that it launched a major air operation against Iran, deploying 30 fighter jets to strike dozens of military targets across the country.

According to the military, the strikes involved the use of more than 60 precision-guided munitions aimed at degrading Iran’s military infrastructure.

The United Nations Security Council will convene later Sunday at Iran’s request following US strikes on the country’s main nuclear sites, Reuters reported citing unnamed diplomats.
