Ryan Crocker: The US military withdrawal from Afghanistan has strengthened the morale of Islamist extremists

"The main war has not started yet," said Ryan Crocker, the former US ambassador to Afghanistan, in response to the blast outside Kabul airport. "The whole process of announcing [leaving Afghanistan] was a significant boost to the spirit of Islamist extremists around the world."
