IEA chief says Hormuz must reopen without conditions
International Energy Agency chief Fatih Birol said on Thursday that the interim agreement to end the US-Iran war was welcome, but that the Strait of Hormuz must be reopened without conditions and negotiations must be concluded within 60 days.
Speaking in Istanbul, Birol said the deal “made me and everyone happy,” but warned that several countries were reviewing their energy policies after Hormuz was closed once and could potentially be closed again.
