US guidance boosts Strait of Hormuz traffic, shipowners say - Bloomberg
Shipowners are growing more optimistic about a pickup in traffic through the Strait of Hormuz after more vessels transited the waterway this week, with the US military providing navigational guidance to commercial operators, Bloomberg reported on Friday.
At least two shipowners said they had been in contact with US forces advising on safe passage, while US Central Command said American assets are not escorting ships but continue to provide advisory support to commercial vessels in the region, the report said.
