FIFA to reassure Iran over World Cup participation - Reuters

FIFA Secretary-General Mattias Grafstrom will meet Iranian Football Federation officials in Istanbul on Saturday to offer “reassurance” over Iran’s participation in the World Cup, Reuters reported, citing a source familiar with the talks.

Iran is scheduled to play all three of its World Cup group matches in the United States, but the team’s participation in the June 11-July 19 tournament has been in question since the US and Israeli attacks on Iran in late February.
