US Treasury chief says no plans to extend waivers for Iranian, Russian oil
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Washington has no intention of continuing sanctions waivers that allow limited trade in Iranian and Russian oil, according to remarks published Friday.
In an interview with the Associated Press, Bessent said the exemptions - previously used to permit restricted purchases under US sanctions - will not be carried forward.
