Iran war could push 30 million into poverty, UNDP chief says
More than 30 million people could be pushed back into poverty due to the impacts of the Iran war, UN development chief Alexander De Croo said on Thursday, citing disruptions to fuel and fertilizer supplies as farmers begin planting.
“Food insecurity will be at its peak level in a few months - and there is not much that you can do about it,” he told Reuters.
