US says Iran unable to locate naval mines in Strait of Hormuz - NYT
US officials said on Friday Iran has been unable to locate all naval mines it deployed in the Strait of Hormuz, complicating efforts to restore fully safe maritime traffic through the strategic waterway, the New York Times reported.
According to the report, Iranian forces laid mines in the Strait of Hormuz during recent hostilities, but Tehran has struggled to track or remove all of them due to limited mine-clearing capabilities and incomplete records of their placement.
