Israeli MP says strikes set Iran back but did not remove threat

An Israeli lawmaker said recent strikes had damaged Iran’s capabilities but had not eliminated the threat, arguing that Tehran could eventually rebuild unless the conflict ends with regime change or a binding, monitored agreement.

Yuli Edelstein, a Likud member of the Knesset and former head of its foreign affairs and defense committee, said Israel had managed to push Iran back by years but was dealing with a regional power whose ultimate goal remained obtaining nuclear weapons.
