European Union foreign ministers will discuss a potential widening of the EU Aspides naval mission to the Strait of Hormuz, the Financial Times reported on Sunday, citing an official with knowledge of the discussions.
An EU-UN joint naval mission to ensure safe passage “seems more likely” than EU countries approaching Iran bilaterally, the report quoted the unnamed official as saying.
