Islamic Republic’s fall could end Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis, US envoy says

Jan 11, 2026, 14:43 GMT+0

The US ambassador to Israel said an end to Iran’s decades-long system of rule could revive Persian culture and put an end to Tehran-aligned armed groups in the region, as nationwide protests continue.

“Should the Iranian people choose to end over 46 yrs of hateful & incompetent rule, it could restore the Persian culture of education, art, music, and strength and the end of Hamas, Hezbollah and Houthis,” US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee said in a post on X.
