Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has appointed Ali Bagheri Kani as his political deputy. Bagheri Kani, the nephew of Mohammad Reza Mahdavi Kani, was one of Iran's top negotiators during the nuclear talks under Saeed Jalili.
