Iran vows support for Lebanon in meeting with Shiite cleric

Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, in a meeting with Sheikh Ali al-Khatib, deputy head of Lebanon’s Higher Islamic Shiite Council, on Tuesday said Tehran would continue its full support for Lebanon’s people, territorial integrity and national sovereignty, a statement by Iran’s foreign ministry said.

Araghchi also stressed Iran’s pursuit of an end to what he called Israel's "aggression and occupation" against Lebanon, the statement said.
