GCC chief condemns ‘brutal Iranian attack’ on Qatari tanker
Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary-General Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi condemned what he called the “brutal Iranian attack” on the Qatari tanker Al-Rukayyat off Oman’s coast and voiced solidarity with Doha, CBS reported Tuesday.
Al-Budaiwi called the strike on the liquefied natural gas tanker “a dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region.”
He urged the international community to adopt a “firm and deterrent stance” against what he described as repeated Iranian attacks, saying such acts threatened regional and international peace and security.
