US says Iran carried out series of hostile moves before latest strikes - NYT
Two US officials told The New York Times on Tuesday that Iran carried out a series of potentially threatening military actions in the 24 hours before the latest US strikes on southern Iran, including launching drones near American naval vessels and deploying speedboats believed to be preparing to lay mines in the Strait of Hormuz.
They also said US military analysts detected increased activity at Iranian missile and air defense sites near the Strait of Hormuz, which they described as posing a threat to US aircraft operating in the region, the report said.
