Hegseth says US aims to force Iran to ‘give up’ nuclear ambitions
US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Washington’s goal is to pressure Tehran into accepting a new nuclear deal, saying the United States must “get them to the point where they’re at the table giving it up.”
Pressed on how the White House intends to achieve that, Hegseth said Iran’s nuclear facilities were “obliterated” in last year’s US and Israeli strikes, but argued Tehran still retains “nuclear ambitions” as well as a “conventional shield of thousands of missiles.”
