Trump got his regime change but in Hormuz maritime order, Iranian lawmaker says

Apr 1, 2026, 11:56 GMT+1

Ebrahim Azizi, head of parliament’s National Security Committee, said the Strait of Hormuz would reopen, “but not for Trump,” and only for those who comply with the Islamic Republic’s new rules.

He said the era of “47 years of hospitality” was over and added: “Trump reached his dream of regime change, but in the maritime order of the region.”
