Two more political prisoners executed in Iran

A fully loaded Kuwaiti crude oil tanker caught fire after an attack by Iran off Dubai early on Tuesday, with no injuries reported, according to Kuwaiti and Dubai authorities.

Kuwait Petroleum Corp, owner of the Kuwait-flagged Al-Salmi, said the attack caused a fire and damage to the vessel’s hull. Authorities in Dubai later said the blaze was brought under control after a drone attack on the tanker.

Kuwait Petroleum Corporation also said no oil spill was reported following the attack.

The strike was the latest in a series of attacks on merchant vessels in the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz since the Iran war began on February 28.

The United States struck an Iranian ammunition depot in Esfahan with 2,000-pound bunker-buster bombs, the The Wall Street Journal reported, citing a US official.

The report said a high volume of the penetrator munitions was used in the strike, part of ongoing US operations targeting Iran’s military infrastructure.

Secondary explosions erupted early Tuesday at an Iranian army ammunition depot near Mount Safa in Esfahan, one of the country’s largest munitions storage sites, following a strike on military positions, a citizen who sent footage to Iran International reported.

The video shows plumes of smoke and fire as emergency teams respond to the blasts, highlighting the scale of the attack on the strategic facility.

Iran’s Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref on Monday posted a message warning about the presence of US troops on Kharg Island in Iran.

"Trump can decide to send troops to Kharg but bringing them back is no longer his decision because no one returns home from hell," the post said.
