“My deepest condolences to all who loved him. Rest in peace, Sina Ashkbousi,” Rowling posted on X, resharing images of the young man.
The original post described Ashkbousi, 17, as a “true Harry Potter fan, the kind who believed in magic because the world needed it.”
Tagging Rowling in the post, the user said, "he wore Slytherin robes and a green scarf, held a wand in his hand, and blew out his birthday candles like a kid living inside his favorite story."
"Days later, in Tehran, he was shot by a bullet and turned into a name that must never be forgotten."
