Night protest in Amol chants 'death to the dictator'

A video sent by a citizen to Iran International on Saturday shows shopkeepers in Shiraz remaining on strike.

The footage shows many shops closed across the city, indicating that the strike by local businesses is continuing despite pressure and disruptions.

Videos received by Iran International show street protests across several parts of Tehran on Friday night.

Footage shows people chanting “Long live the King” in Heravi Square. In another video from Keshavarz Boulevard, demonstrators are heard chanting “This year is the year of blood, Seyyed Ali [ Khamenei] will be overthrown.” Separate footage from the Dolat neighborhood shows residents chanting “Freedom” in the streets.

A video received by Iran International shows Iranians living in Budapest holding a gathering in support of Iran’s national uprising.

Participants at the rally in Hungary were seen chanting “Long live the King,” according to the footage.

Iran’s foreign minister Abbas Araghchi said conditions in the country remain stable despite sanctions and economic weaknesses.

“The situation in Iran overall is good, although there are problems due to sanctions and economic shortcomings,” Araghchi said in remarks aired by Al-Manar on Friday.

The United States and Israel, he said, sought during a 12-day war to replicate in Iran what he described as their approach in Venezuela but failed to do so.

Pakistan’s foreign ministry issued a travel advisory urging its citizens to avoid non-essential trips to Iran, citing nationwide protests and security concerns.

"For their safety and security, Pakistani nationals are advised to avoid all unnecessary travel to the Islamic Republic of Iran until conditions improve," it said in a Saturday statement.

"Pakistani nationals currently residing in Iran are urged to exercise extreme caution, remain vigilant, minimise non-essential travel, and stay in regular contact with the Pakistani Missions."
