A recent phone call between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump turned heated, with sharp disagreements over how to deal with Iran, Israel’s Channel 12 has reported on Monday, contradicting earlier claims that the two leaders were aligned on preventing Tehran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.
According to the report, Trump told Netanyahu during the Thursday call, “I want a diplomatic solution with the Iranians. I believe in my ability to make a good deal.”
He also reportedly stressed that he is seeking an agreement that would serve the interests of both sides.
The tone of the call, as described by Channel 12, appears to diverge from earlier accounts suggesting the conversation had ended on a note of mutual understanding.
