Israel destroyed systems guarding gas field, port in southern Iran - NYT
Israel’s Saturday attacks on Iran destroyed air-defense systems protecting critical oil and petrochemical refineries, as well as systems guarding a large gas field and a major port in southern Iran, according to three Iranian and three senior Israeli defense officials cited by The New York Times.
The targeted sites included defenses at the Bandar Imam Khomeini petrochemical complex in Khuzestan Province, the nearby economic port Bandar Imam Khomeini, and the Abadan oil refinery, as well as defense systems in Ilam Province at the Tange Bijar gas field refinery, the officials said.
