EU chief condemns Iran's missile attack, calling it a threat to stability

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen condemned Iran's ballistic missile attack on Israel, calling it a serious threat to regional stability and a dangerous escalation in an already volatile situation. "I condemn yesterday's ballistic missile attack launched by Iran against Israel in the strongest terms," she said. Von der Leyen urged all parties to protect innocent civilians, stating, "Such actions threaten regional stability and escalate tensions."

She also reiterated the European Union's call for a ceasefire across the borders with Lebanon and Gaza and emphasized the need for the release of all hostages, "some of whom have been held for nearly a year."
