UN Secretary-General: Half of Afghanistan's population needs humanitarian assistance to survive

In a statement, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called on the world community to help the people of Afghanistan "in the darkest times of need". He said half of Afghanistan's population needed humanitarian aid to survive, and warned that Afghanistan was in danger of collapsing its primary service systems.
