Trump pursues 'peace through strength' on Iran, US senator says
US Senator John Thune said on Wednesday that President Donald Trump was pursuing a policy of peace through strength as US military assets continued to build up in the Middle East amid tensions with Iran.
Thune said in the weekly Senate Republican leadership press briefing that he did not know whether Trump had decided to launch a strike but added: “I think that he is preparing for contingencies and is pursuing his policy of peace through strength and working with allies in the region to ensure that we prevent Iran from ever having a nuclear capability.”
