Iran vice president says government has wartime plan in place

Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref said the government has prepared a plan to run the country in wartime, while saying Tehran does not seek conflict but is ready to defend itself.
“The government has prepared a plan to manage the country in wartime, although we hope it will never need to be implemented,” Aref said, adding that the Islamic Republic does not intend to start a war but would not hesitate to defend the country.
