An Iranian protester took down the Islamic Republic flag and replaced it with the pre-1979 Lion and Sun flag at Iran’s embassy in London during Saturday protests.
The lion and sun motif was used on Iran’s flag for centuries before being removed following the revolution and is now widely associated with Iran’s pre-revolutionary era.
The report on the protester replacing the flag was later shared by US President Donald Trump in what is being described as yet another expression of support for regime change in Tehran.
