Congressman Ken Calvert said Iranians deserve inalienable rights and that the US supports those protesting for democracy amid unrest.
"The people of Iran are entitled to the same inalienable rights and liberties as all people. The United States stands with those rising up to demand a free and democratic future for Iran," the Republican House member from California posted on X on Thursday.
The US Department of State's Persian-language account on X expressed support for Iranians taking to the streets on Thursday, adding a message of solidarity.
“Iranians in Tehran, like many other cities across Iran, have taken to the streets and are standing up for their rights and aspirations. To the people of Iran: Your courage in demanding your rights is admirable, and we stand in solidarity with you,” the message said.
Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson on Thursday expressed support for Iranians “once again rising up against oppression,” saying Sweden hears their voices, backs their “brave struggle for freedom.”
“The Iranian people are rising once again against the oppression. We hear their voices and we support their brave struggle for freedom. The self-evident demands for freedom and a better future can never in the long run be silenced with violence and oppression,” he posted on X. “Sweden condemns all attempts to suppress the peaceful protests.”
Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever praised Iranians who continue to “stand firm on the path to freedom” and posted his message also in Persian on X on Thursday.
“Courageous Iranians are standing up for freedom after years of repression and economic hardship. They deserve our full support. Silencing them through violence is unacceptable,” Belgian PM said.
A senior US official told Fox News on Thursday that CENTCOM is closely monitoring the growing anti‑government protests in Tehran and that the US will also be watching Friday prayers across Iran tomorrow and how the regime responds.

"A squadron of F15E’s have deployed to the Middle East but are part of a normal rotation, I am told. There has been no plus up of forces to the Middle East. (Reminder there is no US aircraft carrier group in the Middle East right now, USS Ford remains in the Caribbean,)" she added.
Republican Congresswoman María Elvira Salazar praised protesters in Venezuela and Iran, saying the world is “fed up with extreme regimes” and predicting that 2026 will be a “year of liberation.”
“The world is FED UP with extreme regimes. Peoples rise and tyrants tremble. Venezuela is on the road to FREEDOM. And the brave people of Iran fight for a free and dignified nation. 2026 will be the YEAR OF LIBERATION,” Salazar posted on X.
