Hezbollah pagers received apparent leadership message before detonating - NYT

According to new details reported by The New York Times regarding the pager detonations, at 3:30 p.m., the devices received a message that appeared to be from Hezbollah’s leadership, two officials familiar with the attack confirmed. The pagers beeped for several seconds before detonating.

Hezbollah has long relied on pagers to communicate, as they are believed to make interception of messages more difficult.

These blasts are seen as the latest escalation in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, which intensified after the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7.
