Trump seeks complete end to Iran nuclear program

Jun 17, 2025, 08:10 GMT+1

US President Donald Trump said he wants a “real end” to Iran’s nuclear program, with Iran giving up entirely rather than a ceasefire.

Speaking during his departure from Canada, Trump said he would monitor developments from the White House Situation Room, a CBS reported said on X.

He predicted Israel’s attacks on Iran would continue and emphasized the need to keep civilians safe amid calls for Tehran evacuations.

He warned Iran against targeting US troops, promising a strong response if attacked.

He declined to comment on military contingency plans or congressional briefings but expressed hope Iran’s nuclear program would be eliminated before direct US involvement.
