At least 40 Arbaeen pilgrims were injured due to overcrowding and the breaking of the gate of Shalamcheh terminal
Fars News Agency reported that 40 pilgrims of the Arbaeen ceremony were injured due to the gathering of pilgrims and breaking at the gate of the Shalamcheh border terminal, and law enforcement officers dispersed the crowd with a water cannon. Despite Iranian officials' insistence on closing Iraq's land borders, the Shalamcheh and Mehran borders were reopened on Saturday.
