Hassan Yazdani's powerful ascent to the semi-finals

In the 86kg weight class, Hassan Yazdani defeated Javoril Shapiev of Uzbekistan 11-2 in the first round. In the second round, he defeated Stephen Richmouth of Switzerland 12-1 to advance to the semi-finals. At this stage, Yazdani will face world bronze medalist Arthur Nayfonov from Russia.
